Henderson, TX - Henderson Independent School District (HISD) will hold its next school board election on November 5, 2024. The election will fill positions for District 3 and District 4, with a special election to fill the unexpired term of District 5. District 3 is currently held by Adam Duey, District 4 by Russell C. Brown, and the District 5 seat is vacant following the resignation of Dr. Jamie Sugg after he moved out of the district.

The filing period for candidates began on Saturday, July 20, 2024, and ends on Monday, August 19, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. The deadline for write-in candidates is Friday, August 23, 2024.

While the last day to register to vote is on Monday, October 7, 2024, early voting will be held from Monday, October 21, 2024, through Friday, November 1, 2024. Early voting will be held at the elections office in downtown Henderson as well as the Church of Christ in Kilgore. Election Day is Tuesday, November 5, 2024, with polls open across the county from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
